Create-A-VideoGame with Scratch
Use your artistic skills and learn new programming tools to make your very own video game from Scratch!
Scratch is a programming language where children can program interactive media such as stories, games, and animation. As children create with Scratch, they learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically. Scratch is designed and maintained by the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab.
Young Carter Wills tag teams with Thi at Delight to teach students how to use Scratch to make their ideas come to life. Kids will make digital art and later design them into games, starting with simple tools and expanding to advanced options as the class progresses. Students can take their games home on a flash drive at the end of the class.
